sharepoint - Team separation in TFS but share projects? -
i'm new tfs , we're loving it! i'm having difficult time figuring out how best organize tfs version control , agile/scrum/sharepoint sites, keeping isolation of teams yet sharing of code , projects.
for scenario let's have 3 teams. team 1, 2, 3. want each team have access projects work on, , each team have isolation alerts , notifications, sharepoint, agile, etc. let's there 5 total projects.
team 1: --project 1 --project 2 team 2: --project 1 --project 4 --project 5 team: 3: --project 1 --project 2 --project 3 --project 4
we have 1 collection setup, defaultcollection. right have 1 team doesn't give isolation , separation of features. how can best configure tfs keep separation of teams not have separate code projects? projects shared , point of contention - don't know how handle part.
acme widget has x projects , have "company shared" x projects. may working on different products such acme widget 1, 2, 3 share , work on company shared projects, i.e. company.utilities, company.windows, company.security.
can please shed light on how configure tfs while we're stages of use. want go beyond version control mentioned above. want use task, bug, alerts, build, etc.
p.s. if tfs sub-contractor helps organizations configure tfs setup entertain professional consultation , configuration.
since tfs , sharepoint aren't holding user accounts (they inside active directory). easiest create active directory group each team , place users in group. can still keep 1 project collection (no need over-architect) , everytime create new project within collection assign permissions project (tfs, sql reports, , sharepoint) using active directory groups. should download free tfs administration tool manage permissions , when user joins/leaves team can manage directly in active directory without changing tfs, sql reporting or sharepoint. seems common approach starting when issue arose sharepoint days when admins trying independently manage sharepoint groups , active directory groups.
