python - Add a datafile type reader to paraview using pvpython -

i'm aware can add readers different datafile types paraview, however, talks doing bunch of vtk stuff in c++ , (maybe worse) re-compiling paraview make aware of datafile format. on other hand, paraview supports scripting in python. maybe lack of familiarity vtk, but, me looks can manipulate vtk objects pvpython. there way dynamically add reader paraview using pvpython?

what want "python programmable filter. refer paraview wiki. wiki page shows how write csv reader in python.
